Crestwood

The Crestwood community lies on either side of Crestwood Boulevard in eastern Birmingham. It is divided by the boulevard into the neighborhoods of Crestwood North and Crestwood South. While most of Crestwood was developed in the late 1940s, the former "Woodlawn Heights" area of Crestwood North dates to the 1910s. Crestwood Park and Crestwood Plaza are at the center of the community. The neighborhood also includes the former site of the Woodlawn Infirmary built in 1896, which was demolished after it caught fire in 2002. The site was then redeveloped as single family residences we know as Crestwood.
